Police in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan have issued a rare public safety alert ahead of the release of a man with a long history of voyeurism and related offences. The warning comes as 37-year-old Kyle Ronald Hameluck is due to leave provincial jail and return to the city.
Hameluck was convicted in several cases involving secretly observing and recording people without their consent. Police said he has about 70 prior incidents on his record, including voyeurism, indecent acts and trespassing at night, crimes that often involved recording people in private settings.
In October 2025, Hameluck was sentenced to just under three years in custody for recent offences, but because he received credit for time already served, his remaining sentence is brief. Saskatoon police said they are warning the public out of caution and concern about the risk of reoffending.
The police released a photo and description to help the community be aware. According to the alert, Hameluck is 5′10″ tall, weighs about 155 lbs, has brown hair and green eyes, is balding, and has several tattoos.
Authorities also shared some of the conditions of his release, designed to reduce the chance of further offences. These include:
- Staying in an approved residence from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Not possessing drugs unless prescribed by a doctor.
- No contact with past victims, directly or indirectly.
- No cell phones or devices that can take photos or record video.
Saskatoon police stressed that if anyone sees him breaking these conditions, they should not approach him, but should call law enforcement immediately.
The case highlights ongoing challenges in balancing public safety with legal release requirements. Some community members have voiced concern on social media about how the criminal justice system handles repeat offenders, particularly in cases involving privacy violations and predatory behaviour. The police alert aims to help the public stay informed and vigilant about safety.
Such public warnings are unusual and show the serious concern authorities have when someone with a history of similar offences is about to re-enter the community.Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
