Will diplomacy win, or is a major decision just hours away?
Donald Trump has set a firm deadline for Iran to agree to a deal, saying there will be no extensions. The deadline, set for Tuesday, comes after weeks of rising tension and ongoing talks between the United States and Iran.
Trump said Iran’s latest offer was a “significant step”, but still not enough. He made it clear that if no agreement is reached, the U.S. is ready to take strong action. At the same time, he noted that negotiations appear to be happening in good faith, showing that both sides are still talking.
The U.S. wants Iran to give up nuclear weapons efforts and help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil route used by much of the world. Trump believes stopping nuclear development is critical, calling it a major global security issue.
Despite the tough stance, Trump’s approach shows a mix of pressure and diplomacy. He gave Iran extra time beyond the original deadline, which suggests he still hopes for a peaceful solution. He also said newer Iranian negotiators seem more practical and open to discussion.
The situation remains tense, but this deadline could be a turning point. A deal could reduce conflict and stabilize oil markets. If not, the world may face serious consequences.
