Battlefords RCMP seek man charged in First Nation firearm discharge

Battlefords RCMP are asking the public to help locate an 18-year-old North Battleford man wanted over a firearm discharge on Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation.

Around 2:25 a.m. on August 25, Battlefords RCMP received a report of a firearm discharge on the First Nation. Investigators determined a firearm was fired from a vehicle toward a residence. None of the people inside were hurt. The vehicle, described as a black four-door Dodge Dart, left the area.

A warrant has been issued for Brady Starchief’s arrest. He faces six charges, including discharging a firearm with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and careless use of a firearm. None of the charges have been proven in court.

Starchief is 5’7”, about 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. RCMP say they do not have a recent photograph of him they are able to release, and that anyone who sees him should not approach him. Battlefords RCMP searched the area with Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services. The suspect vehicle has not been located.
