Regina man charged after fleeing police in stolen truck

RCMP allege a Regina man drove a stolen truck away from officers on Kawacatoose First Nation on September 21, 2026, after a fuel theft was reported in Raymore.

Punnichy RCMP received a report at about 4:30 p.m. that day of fuel stolen from a Raymore business, with the suspect gone. Officers soon found a matching truck on Kawacatoose First Nation that RCMP say was stolen on September 20, 2026 from a property in the RM of Mount Hope.

The truck would not stop, so help arrived from RCMP detachments in Wynyard, Wadena, Southey, Melville and Fort Qu’Appelle, plus Lanigan Combined Traffic Services and Yorkton Police Dog Services. Officers placed a tire deflation device where Highway 15 meets Township Road 270A. The truck drove over it and soon halted. RCMP say the driver, the only person in the truck, was arrested, and no one was hurt.

Tyler Ross, 42, of Regina, faces one count of flight from a peace officer under section 320.17 of the Criminal Code, one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 under section 354(1)(a), and two counts of failing to comply with a release order condition under section 145(5)(a).

Ross was also arrested on Wynyard RCMP warrants for charges including theft of a truck and theft under $5,000, tied to a September 2026 investigation. He is due in court in Punnichy on September 22, 2026. None of the charges have been proven in court. Punnichy RCMP say the investigation is continuing.
