Sask. cites $30B infrastructure target, local procurement share

The Government of Saskatchewan says it is deepening its engagement with industry as it works toward a $30 billion infrastructure spending target by 2030 included in Saskatchewan’s Growth Plan, according to a government release issued September 21.

The release does not announce a new project or funding commitment. It describes ongoing engagement with industry, including a Construction Roundtable that the province says meets a few times a year.

In the 2025-26 fiscal year, the province awarded 490 procurements worth a combined $741 million, the release states. More than 94 per cent of those procurements, worth $698 million, went to Saskatchewan-based companies, according to the government.

SaskBuilds and Procurement Minister Sean Wilson said: “Our government recognizes that delivering infrastructure takes strong partnerships. Working closely with industry helps us bring projects to life efficiently and effectively. By drawing on the experience and knowledge of our partners, we can deliver high-quality infrastructure that meets the needs of Saskatchewan people and communities.”

The release frames the local procurement share as evidence of government spending reaching Saskatchewan businesses, jobs and communities. It does not name specific projects tied to the $30 billion target or say how the target will be met beyond continued industry engagement.
