Regina police flag 10 collisions in 10 days

Regina police say 10 collisions between vehicles and people walking, cycling or riding e-bikes in the past 10 days have killed one person and injured several others, according to a Sept. 28 release from the Regina Police Service (RPS).
The release does not say where or when the fatal collision happened. None of the three incidents it details was fatal; the injuries in each appeared serious but not life-threatening.
RPS issued a road safety reminder on Sept. 25. Since then, the release says, officers have responded to two more collisions involving pedestrians or cyclists and one involving a motorcycle.
On Sept. 26, about 1:40 p.m., a vehicle and a motorcycle collided near Dewdney Avenue and Park Street. Paramedics took the adult male motorcycle driver to hospital.
On Sept. 27, shortly after 3:30 p.m., a vehicle struck a six-year-old girl at Pasqua Street and Parliament Avenue. Police said their initial investigation found the driver had stopped for a red light and was making a right turn onto Parliament Avenue when the girl was hit. She was taken to hospital, and the investigation is ongoing.
On Sept. 28, shortly after 7:30 a.m., a vehicle struck an adult female pedestrian near Sandringham Road and Cumberland Road. Paramedics took her to hospital, and police are still investigating.
The release said every person who uses the city’s roads has a part to play in keeping them safe. It does not name any of the people hurt.
