Man injured in Thunderchild First Nation shooting

Turtleford RCMP are investigating after a man was hurt in a shooting on Thunderchild First Nation, Saskatchewan, on the morning of October 6.
Police say the report came in at about 7:45 a.m. According to the RCMP news release issued October 7, a firearm was discharged and an adult man was injured. Paramedics took him to hospital. The release describes his injuries as non-life-threatening.
The RCMP say two adults are suspects, both wearing black face coverings. Police say both were riding as passengers in a black car or dark SUV that fled the scene.
The release says police have no further description of the vehicle’s occupants at this time. It does not name the injured man or explain how the shooting happened. It also does not mention any arrests or charges.
Turtleford RCMP continue to investigate. Officers are asking anyone with information about the shooting, the suspects or the vehicle to call the detachment at 310-RCMP. They also want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity on or near Thunderchild First Nation that morning.
