Regina police have charged Maddison Blueeyes, 25, with first degree murder in the death of Deandre Lagimodiere, 20, on the city’s 1300 block of Robinson Street on October 3.

The charge is an allegation. Nothing has been proven in court.

According to a Regina Police Service release dated October 22, officers responded to the 1300 block of Robinson Street on Saturday, October 3, at about 2:00 p.m. Officers found Lagimodiere with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. They began lifesaving measures, but Lagimodiere was declared dead at the scene.

Police secured the area and called in the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, the Major Crimes Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit.

On Wednesday, October 21, police arrested Blueeyes at a home in the 700 block of McTavish Street, acting on an outstanding warrant. The charge is listed in the release as first degree murder under section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.

Blueeyes was to make a first appearance in Regina Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 22.

The release does not describe a motive. It also does not say whether Blueeyes and Lagimodiere knew each other.

Police describe Lagimodiere’s death as the sixth homicide in Regina this year.
