Two charged after Red Pheasant Cree Nation theft and police chase

RCMP say two people stole a vehicle and fled from police on Red Pheasant Cree Nation on October 15, 2026. The Saskatchewan RCMP announced the charges on October 22 and put the combined total at 44.
Trevor Auger, 22, of Edmonton, and Riley Baptiste, 29, of Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation, are each charged. The charges are allegations. Nothing has been proven in court.
Battlefords RCMP say a report came in around 11:30 a.m. of people with firearms entering a home. The occupants reported no physical injuries to police.
Officers then spotted the pair on a rural road and tried to pull them over, police say. The vehicle kept going. It was later stopped on Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation, and both were arrested without incident.
Police say a search of the vehicle turned up two firearms. Searches of the pair turned up a small quantity of suspected cocaine, 34 MDMA tablets and several pharmaceutical-style pills. The release does not say whether the substances have been tested.
Both face firearms charges, failing to comply with release conditions, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer. Auger faces more, including impaired and dangerous operation, flight from a peace officer and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Both made a court appearance in North Battleford on October 16, 2026, the release says.
