Innovation Saskatchewan Launches ACRE Program for Agtech Firms

Innovation Saskatchewan launched a new funding program for agtech companies in the province on October 29, 2026. The Agtech Commercialization Readiness program is known as ACRE.
ACRE offers up to $30,000 for on-farm pilot projects. Each project pairs a Saskatchewan agtech company with producers and industry partners, so the company can try its technology in working agricultural settings, collect feedback and meet potential customers. The release says producers and partners get early access to new tools before they reach the wider market.
The program is modelled on the Made In Saskatchewan Technology (MIST) program. According to the release, MIST has supported Luxsonic Technologies, SolusGuard and Offstreet through pilot projects.
Warren Kaeding, the minister responsible for Innovation Saskatchewan, said ACRE will help Saskatchewan-made technologies reach the market and create economic opportunities.
Innovation Saskatchewan CEO Kari Harvey said that testing a product under real conditions can be what turns a promising idea into a commercial success for many agtech firms. Harvey said the agency looks forward to the partnerships and technologies that come out of the program.
Christine Strube, research chair with the Saskatchewan Cattle Association, said cattle producers want practical tools they can use on the farm, and the association welcomes investment in them.
